The classes can be individual or in groups, according to each student’s needs and preferences.
They only take place online, with no possibility of in-person classes

What is the difference between the levels?
a1 - a2
BEGINNER
I know a few words and simple phrases but have difficulty understanding and forming my questions.
I can express myself in daily situations but still have trouble following slow and clear dialogues.
b1 - b2
INTERMEDIATE
I can use advanced vocabulary, but sometimes I struggle to find the right words. Participating in conversations about current affairs is challenging. I understand increasingly longer texts.
I can argue different points of view, but sometimes have difficulty expressing my arguments.
c1 - c2
ADVANCED
I can use a wide range of vocabulary and when I don’t know a word, I use synonyms easily. I can express myself clearly and precisely, even though I still make some grammatical errors. I am producing increasingly cohesive and well-structured written texts. I can critically analyze information and argue. I use idiomatic expressions and figurative language in a sophisticated manner.

Who created?
I am Susana Pereira, a teacher of European Portuguese as a foreign language. After 14 years of working with different foreign students both in person and online, I have experienced teaching for different cultures, native languages, and age groups. The Academy’s team of teachers also has extensive professional experience in teaching.
TEACHING TEAM
Joana Soares
At 38 years old, Joana has been working since 2007, accumulating 10 years of experience in PLNM (Portuguese as a Non-Native Language) and collaborating with various institutions in teaching Portuguese and English. Her main motivation is working with motivated and interested adults.
Teresa Gonçalves
At 28 years old, Teresa already has 2 years of experience in teaching PLNM, collaborating with various Portuguese teaching institutions, including the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon. She stands out for her special relationship with Asian students, thanks to her basic knowledge of Japanese.
Agustín Salinas
Agustín is a teacher of Portuguese as a Foreign Language (PLE) who lives in Argentina. At 34 years old, he teaches online in both variants of Portuguese (Brazilian and European) and comes to the Academy especially to work with Spanish speakers.

However, UNTIL DECEMBER 2024, individual courseswill remain at 35€ per class and group courses will continue with a monthly fee of 75€.
FAQ
The classes are conducted via video call, through Zoom, Teams, or Google Meets. The invitation will be sent in the first class.
The classes can last 50 minutes for individual classes or 60 minutes in groups.
The classes do not work on a course basis, with a start and end date. In individual classes, the end of the classes is when the student wishes. In group classes, the end of the classes is when the 6-month contract ends, and the contract can always be renewed.
The manual chosen by the teacher will be the only material you will need to acquire.
Yes, it is possible to cancel or reschedule a class as long as it is done at least 24 hours in advance.
Private Classes: If a student is unable to attend classes for an extended period due to an emergency or personal problem, we can discuss options for a refund or rescheduling the classes.
Group Classes: If a student is unable to attend classes for an extended period due to an emergency or personal problem, the recording of the classes will be made available by the teacher and the contractual commitment must be maintained.
In cases of extreme emergency, other measures may be taken.
Private Classes: In the first class, we assess your proficiency level in Portuguese and, based on that, we will create a personalized class plan that meets your needs and goals.
Group Classes: You will need to take the Placement Test to ensure you are in the right course. In the first classes, the teacher will also pay closer attention to understand doubts and if you really fit the group’s level.
